Choosing layouts

Use ATS layouts when the document will go through portals, parsers, or recruiter systems. Use sidebar and case-study layouts when the recipient reads the PDF directly and visual structure helps.

  • CVMain recruiter document, usually ATS-safe by default.
  • One-page CVCompact attachment for referrals or direct outreach.
  • Motivation letterCover text for the application; classic letterhead or a plain parser-safe layout.
  • PortfolioProof document for selected projects and evidence.
  • Skills matrixTabular skills export for portals that ask for one; both layouts are ATS-safe.

CV templates

Used for the main CV document in Apply.

Corporate ATS is safest for portals. Sidebar professional is stronger for direct PDF review.
